Athlete Spotlight - Nickie McNeil

“When my boys made one of the top soccer teams in their age group , it wasn’t long before I realized they needed to catch up to the speed, strength and agility of many of the existing players. While asking around at Sparta and high schools one name came up over and over, “Spencer Herzog !” I had heard the name before but thought it would be impossible to schedule time with him. I was aware of how many individuals, teams and schools were heavily booked on his weekly calendar. I decided to call anyway. Spencer went out of his way to fit a small group of players on his busy schedule three times a week. One of my boys is a soccer “goalkeeper” so he wasn’t getting as much cardio as the other players. In the beginning, I thought he would be embarrassed if he wasn’t at the same level as the other boys. However, Spencer gets to know these boys and caters to each one of their needs. He works them VERY hard but makes it fun and is such a positive role model! My boys actually looked forward to their sessions with Spencer, which wasn’t how they felt with other programs.I have recommended Spencer to everyone who asks and always get great feedback about his training and how affordable he is. It’s not just about working out, he constantly talks to athletes about respect, eating habits and the mental aspects of competition. He even offered a free program of mental fitness to our group as he was in the final development stage. It was awesome and my boys have used some of the technics he suggested I could go on and in about Spencer but I know everyone needs to experience it for themselves. He not only teaches, but he also practices what he preaches and the boys strive to become more like him. I would recommend Spencer to anyone no matter what level. He is a master at providing an individual program for each participant, including adults.”
